After one week of desperately trying to get the game running in several virtual machines, I decided to intsall Windows natively. On a Mac.
The story begins like this: I am what you would call a geek. I love programming, developing software, web development and the internet. As I try to be productive on my computer, I rarely play ANY games. The only game installed on my Laptop and Computer was chess. It’s sort of a 3D chess but you could only move things by voice commands, which makes the game unplayable.
Then, one day I saw some of my friends in school play this good-looking game and I asked what it was. I found out that it was an online game and I too thought it would be fun to play. I just had to install it, which brouht up quite some problems. The big problem was that I am on Mac OS X and Rappelz runs on Windows only. so I installed Windows in a virtual Machine but it didn’t really work. Then I tried out another Virtual machine. I created a character on another friend’s computer. After trying out every virtual machine I could think of, I ended up running Windows natively.
And here I am, playing Rappelz with excellent graphics and I can see everything and it runs really fast.
So….where am I actually? Michael showed me how to kill those animals and I killed some creepy-looking animal and my Avatar began to shine and I reached level 1! Unfortunately, the only thing I know is how to move and kill animals (Remember, I never played this kind of game ever before).
What would an intelligent person try to do? Download tutorial videos of course. I downloaded all of them and currently, watching them an I try to do all these things they show me.
I hope I get to see all those nice places soon!
